Ime’s note: 2 weeks everybody? Hope you’re not getting tired of me :D
Always the same morning.
I didn’t wake up by the smell of breakfast. Instead, I woke up at nearly noon. Since the kid around and always made breakfast before he went to school at 6, I rarely woke up around this time. And having a longer morning.., it felt so refreshing.
I felt much better, but still lacked of energy. I felt a little bit lazy, so I got back to sleep and woke later on the evening, still sleepy because I slept too much. I got up before I could back to sleep, and fetched my phone in the night stand. There’re 4 missed calls and 1 text message. 1 was from Mr. Boss, 1 was from unknown number, and 2 were from Kyu. The text message which was from Kyu, said that he would come over near dinner. I went to kitchen to get some food since my stomach let out an audible grumbling. Half way searching on the cabinet, I realized there’s a memo on the fridge.
Breakfast is on the stove.
Lunch and Dinner are on the fridge.
Heat them before you’re going to eat it, Hyukjae-sshi.
Don’t forget to eat your medicine.
I’ll be home late, study with Kibum in his house.
I opened the fridge to find some fish dish from yesterday, but when I took one of them out, it seemed different. Apparently he used my sister’s groceries. He never cooked fresh meat before because he didn’t know how, but clear enough Sora was a good teacher. I pouted to myself, thinking about how Sora treated him. While waiting for the dish heated inside the microwave, I made myself a cup of coffee. I seriously needed it right now, since headache started pounding. I was shipping the coffee in the dinning table in the silence when the microwave went ding at the same time my phone rang.
“Hello?” I quickly got up and went to the microwave.
“Hyukjae!” It’s Mr. Boss, “Why aren’t you showing up?”
“I’m sick,” I took the dish out.
“Oh really? You can be stopped by illness?”
“I’m human, Boss! Uh, ouch!” The plate was hot, mind you!
He chuckled, “What? When will you finish from being sick?”
“What kind of question is that? Gezh, seriously!” I searched for the chopstick.
“Nah~ I just have a job that I want you to do it for me.”
“I’m currently sick,” I tried a bite of the fish dish. “Um~”
“That’s why I’m asking!” He started to get irritated.
“Ask Hankyung or the other,” I took another bite, “Um~”
“I said I want you to do this! And besides, Hankyung seems so busy lately and I can’t reach his phone, and what are you humming ‘um~ um~’ over?”
I didn’t immediately answer the question. “Busy,” I repeated rather than asked. It reminded me of the messed up scene yesterday. When my sister reacted to the kid’s question with a cold smirk then left without another word. And then as if in the cue, suddenly everybody had something to do and left the apartment in no time.
“Yes,” said Mr. Boss patiently.
“What kind of job do you want me to do?”
“Nothing serious, just tell me if you get better.”
Then after ended the call, I could concentrate at my meal. Or not. It seemed everything was against me today. Just when I sent a bite of a fish to my mouth, the door bell rang.
“Come in, Kyu!” I shouted. Didn’t even check if the front door locked or not. He was worst than Teukie in breaking in after all. But instead of crackling voice of the door being unlocked, I heard another door bell. So I got up to get it. Threw the dish a stare before going.
I opened my door not to Kyu but to a stranger. Cute stranger if I could say.
“May I help you?”
“Lee Hyukjae-sshi, right?” asked the stranger guy. I was peered him. He wore glasses that framed his beautiful eyes and his strong cheek bone was the highlight when he smiled brightly. The thing was, he couldn’t stop smiling, so I stupidly, staring at his cute figure.
“Err, yes,” I said, drawing my attention from him.
He offered his hand and I shook it. “Good afternoon Lee Hyukjae-sshi, I’m Kim Ryeowook, Kim Donghae’s homeroom teacher.”
“Oh,” I said stupidly.
The kid’s teacher waited patiently, but since I didn’t do anything more, he then said, “I give you a visit because you didn’t come to today’s meeting with the headmaster, Sir.”
“Oh,” I said stupidly again, “oh, sure, sure come in,” I finally managed to get some sanity.
He took a look around the apartment when I escorted him to the couch. I was so nervous. Not because he was so gorgeous, but because I felt like a parent that going to get some scolding from their kid’s teacher. Now that I thought about it, I did miss the meeting with the headmaster.
The teacher just kept smiling and I felt awkward by myself.
“Err…I’m sorry, I missed the meeting, Sunsaengnim.”
“It’s okay. You can call me Ryeowook.”
“Ryeowook-sshi,” I repeated.
“Are you okay Hyukjae-sshi? You look pale.”
“It’s just a fever,” I smiled awkwardly. Then got up abruptly, “Some coffee, Ryeowook-sshi?”
“Sure,” he smiled cutely.
“Do you live here with Donghae alone?”
“Yes,” I said from the kitchen.
“I see…,” he said to himself.
When I got back with a cup of coffee, he already took out a few papers, and it made me even more nervous. I eyed the papers and got back to my seat in the small couch in front of him.
“Donghae is a good kid,” he started, and I just nodded, not that I agreed with him.
“But we worried, because lately his grade has been falling down,” he gave me two pieces of papers. I took it and saw the content. It’s a grade report from junior high and from first semester in high school.
The first report was awesomely good. You would think this kid is a genius, but the second report was um… ordinary, and you wouldn’t know if this is from the same person if you didn’t take a look at the name. Ah, talking about the name…I shifted my eyes to look at the name at the first report: “Kim Donghae” and I tried my best not to roll my eyes at that. It was obvious that the documents he faked for get in the high school were including the grade report. I wouldn’t surprise if the grade were also fake.
“Like you can see, Hyukjae-sshi, he was doing good in junior high, so we put much expectation at him and he did exactly like what we expected from him, but only…at first…see there,” he pointed at the first few test in the beginning of the semester. And yes, the grade was quite impressive and he trailed his finger to the side, showing me that the grades were slowly falling down.
“Ow…” I said stupidly. Seriously, it was not liked I was really stupid, but I didn’t know how to react, since for me the fact that the grade report papers were fake was enough explanation.
“And he always come to school late lately,” he continued, didn’t bother by the lacked of reactions, “and he often didn’t do his homework, and just yesterday we caught him sleeping in the class,” he nodded in concern. So I nodded too.
“And he seemed really tired lately…wonder…” he eyed me.
“What?” I said, felt offended.
“Don’t take me wrong, Hyukjae-sshi, but I really have to make sure that you didn’t over worked him,” he said sheepishly. Now I took a closer look, he didn’t look like a teacher at all. If this guy met a wolf somewhere, he’ll definitely dead.
Talking about wolf, especially the evil one, someone just entered the room and seemed taken aback when he saw the occupants. I didn’t even bother to give him a look.
“No, I didn’t over work him, in any possible way,” I said to the teacher, “He just does chores and cook here.”
Ryeowook leaned forward in the bow manner as the wolf, I mean Kyu, approaching us and took a seat beside him. The look in his face made you think of a pervert middle aged salesman in the subway.
“Hi, I’m Q,” he said to Ryeowook, didn’t even ask me first.
“Oh, hello, I’m Ryeowook,” he said with a smile. I rolled my eyes at the scene. See what I’m talking about?
“Wookie! Have you had dinner yet? I brought some food! We can eat together, yes Hyuk?”
I just sighed. He then dragged the poor teacher to dinning table and started preparing the food and shoved aside my barely eaten meal. Now was not even close to dinner time. I just saw him acting like this if he wanted ‘something’, like when he acted like this toward Sungmin. Ah, that reminded me, Isn’t Kyu now with Sungmin?
“Where’s Sungmin?” I asked, joining the table and pulling closer my neglected dish then started eating again. Kyu didn’t even bother at the question and just answered simply, “don’t know,”
I had a feeling that I better didn’t spoil too much about Sungmin in front of Ryeowook-sshi. Not that I really wanted they to be together. I sighed. Sometimes Kyu was really troublesome.
Ryeowook eyed me with worried in his eyes, maybe wondering why I was sighed so heavily out of the blue. But right now he was too occupied with Kyu who was trying hard to get his attention. He was eyeing me again with worries, this time because he rather wanted to finish his duty first before doing anything else, but Kyu didn’t leave a space to do that, and soon Ryeowook-sshi seemed enjoying the activities (read: falling into the trap).
Before we all knew, night already late and I escorted the teacher to front door when he spared me an apologetic look to not finish his duty properly. We arranged another meeting, so he could leave with less guilty feeling.
“I don’t know you have such a cute friend, Hyuk!” Kyu exclaimed when I got back to the main room, “and why didn’t you introduce him to me?” he said, with offended tone.
“He’s not my friend,” I said casually.
“Seriously, Hyuk. He is a grown up man and he can take care of himself without you over protected him.”
“Genius Kyu can be an idiot sometimes,” I said, tended to make fun of him.
“What the fuck?”
“I said he is not my friend, smart ass!”
“Oh yeah? So who is he then?”
“The kid teacher,” I waited for his disappointment, but it didn’t come, instead, a happy exclamation erupted.
“Teacher? Wow that is hot!”
“Seriously, Kyu, where is Sungmin?”
“In his town, I suppose, how would I know?”
“I thought you guys are going out?” at the question, Kyu gave off a dark look.
“That bitch…I don’t play with bitches.”
“He is not a bitch!” I exclaimed first, a little bit annoyed because Sungmin was my friend after all, but I felt something suspicious at the statement, because I rarely saw him angry at his dates, that mostly a success, so I quickly added, “He rejected you!” not in asking tone.
Kyu seemed composed with his next actions and took his guard on. “Of course, no! I just got bored with him at our first date,” he said casually. If he said it to others but me, they would believe it immediately.
“He refused to have one night stand with you, didn’t he?” I said with a clear amusement in my voice. And to adding the joy, Kyu didn’t answer. I laughed wholeheartedly. At that particular moment, the kid chose to come home.
“Well, well… ,” Kyu smirked evilly, “Your pet boy has come home, I should leave then,” and succeeded making my laughter died away.
“He is not a pet.”
The kid just stood in the corridor with a confused expression. “Eh?” he said stupidly. It seemed that everyone had turned stupid today.
I came out to the balcony at midnight alone because I was too fresh to get back to sleep. I was thinking a lot of things that happened lately, feeling the strong breeze of cozy wind hitting my face. I was just simply watching the scenery in front of me. Moon. City. Sky. Airplane passed by. And anything in general. I knew it was not wise to stay out side in the weather like this, I might be catching cold again, but I was not really care since the television didn’t do its job properly which was entertaining me.
I heard a door slid beside me so I turned my attention to it. Someone came out from the apartment next door. He leaned at the railing and started watching scenery too. I wasn’t sure if he noticed my present. But then he took a glance when I didn’t stop staring at him.
“Feeling a little down,” he said unexpectedly. I supposed this guy maybe Heechul guy that dated ‘she-next-door-neighbor’. Or so, I assumed.
“Um…,” I didn’t really sure how to respond, “That’s normal, I mean, to feel down sometimes.”
“I guess…,” he fell silence, “Hey, Hankyung is your friend, isn’t he?”
“Yes,” I simply answered.
“What do you think about him?”
“Eh?” what a question! It seemed Hankyung got himself into trouble. Well, he would get into a trouble if he insisted flirting with some girl that already had boyfriend and now the boyfriend was interrogating me about him. Hello good day! “He is good person,” I said as sincerely as I could. “Why did you ask?”
“Well, because…never mind,” he changed his mind, “I heard that you’re sick.”
“I got better.”
“You shouldn’t expose yourself to this kind of weather or you will get sick again, Hyukjae-sshi.”
I looked at him, I didn’t expect that he would treat me like this after that phone call, so I unconsciously smiled and said, “I think we haven’t introduced ourselves properly to each other,” then leaned my hand over the railing so he could reach it.
He looked like taken aback at my action and hesitated before accepted my friendly intention, “Heechul, he said,” like what I had thought.
“Hyukjae,” I smiled and added, “You have a beautiful girlfriend Heechul-sshi.”
“Eh??” I didn’t notice his confused expression because at the same moment, I sneezed.
“Oh holy shi...,” I stopped myself, before I could embarrassed myself in front of him. “I think I should come in now,” I smiled, “We should get a drink sometimes, Heechul-sshi.”
“Sure,” he said simply and he watched me silently with questioning look while I got inside.
I wondered if it’s too late to call mom at this hour, duh of course, but I didn’t have anything to do, so I would check on Teukie before I went to his place.
“Hello?” I said expectantly.
“Not now, hyuk, I kind of bu… busy,” and I could heard suppressed embarrassing voice before he disconnected the call.
He sounded a little bit like a girl and that made me slightly turn on. I felt embarrassed, because he’s my own hyung. I cursed myself for being so perverted and I swore I wouldn’t mention this to Teukie even if my life depended on it. But I knew why. I had been sex deprived because I stopped doing sex ever since the kid around. I wondered why. I was unconsciously clutching my junior and stroke it gently, “Urgh…”
“You still up, Hyukjae-sshi?”
I jumped furiously and started cursing. I turned around and fond the half asleep kid in his pajama. He looked messed up and…
I gulped, felt something getting tighter.
He rubbed his eyes cutely and approached me. Afraid of myself, I took a step back.
“You should get some sleep so you will get better soon, Hyukjae-sshi,”
“I, I, I…”
“And it’s bad to let the door opened, you might be catching cold again,” he passed by me and closed the open door.
I watched him from a side while he proceeded to kitchen and took some water from the sink. He then rubbed his eyes again while getting back to his room, but stopped after realized that I was still watching him. A little bit confused, he seemed trying to shoo off the sleepiness by rubbing his eyes again.
“Something’s wrong, Hyukjae-sshi?”
His cuteness made me even more scared of myself. But no voice came out when I intended to reply to him. So he approached me then asked again, “Are you okay, Hyukjae-sshi?”
I didn’t know how I look that made him asking that, but I bet I looked horrible.
“Are you catching cold again?” he asked in concern closer by every step.
“D, don, don’t come,” I said felt even more scared.
He stopped dead in his track. He pouted and said in pain tone, “Do you hate me that much? Why, Hyukjae-sshi? I’ve tried my best to you. Why do you still hate me?”
Huh? Was he still in his dream state? I started panicking because he started sobbing.
“I, I, I…what are you saying?”
“I said you hate me and I don’t know what to do to make you not to hate me,” he cried silently.
Somehow, my heart ached like someone stabbed it with stained knife. I approached him and quickly collected him in a hug.
“That’s not like that silly…” I tried to soothe the cry.
“No! You do hate me,” he said hysterically in my chest and clutching my shirt and rubbing some certain wrong place unintentionally. I felt something even more tighter. Oh my God…please help me…
“I, I, I don’t hate you,” I said, and just realized that in fact I DO don’t hate him.
“Really?” He looked up and clutching tighter to my shirt. I groaned at the friction.
“Yes,” I managed to said, peeled my eyes from his cute expression.
“Hyukjae-sshi” he whispered. I looked back at him and watched him slowly closed his eyes and pursed his lips slightly. I leaned forward to close the distance, which was not that far from the beginning, and started wondering if I had lost my mind by doing this. He leaned closer. When the gap coming to disappear, I jerked him forward and squeezed him in the tight hug while I rested my head in his shoulder.
I couldn’t do this. It was... just wrong.
We stayed like that for a while until I felt his breathing heaved in the fine rhythm. I pushed him to look that he fell in to his slumber. I sighed heavily.
Because I didn’t want him to wake at this embarrassing position, I decided to take him to his room.
I placed him gently on his bed and watched him for a while before going out of his room.
“Hyukjae-sshi,” he whispered. I nearly answered when I realized, he still asleep. So I got back to his bed and kneeling beside him.
“I’m scared,” he said again in his dream, barely audible. I wondered why he was even dreaming of me and what he was scared of. A single drop of tear flowed down his cheek. I wiped it of, but he grabbed my wrist. I wriggled a bit to loose it, afraid he might be awake. But he gripped my wrist tighter. I groaned in frustration and soon gave up. He smiled and loosened the grip. I placed my head in the edge of his bed and watched his sleeping figure. I was too lost in mind to realize that this certain activities could be categorized as pervert. I sighed and slowly sleepiness dragged me to dream land.
